Privacy Policy
Minimal Launcher · Last updated: March 2026
Minimal Launcher is a home-screen replacement app built for focus and simplicity.
This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and — importantly —
what it never does.
Data we access and why
The app requests the following permissions:
-
Approximate location —
Used solely on-device to fetch your local weather (temperature, conditions) and to
calculate today's sunrise and sunset times. Your coordinates are never stored on
any server and are never shared with third parties. The only external call is a
standard HTTPS request to the open-source
Open-Meteo weather API,
which receives your latitude and longitude to return weather data. Open-Meteo
does not log or retain individual requests.
-
Calendar —
Read-only access to display upcoming events (next 24 hours) on your home screen.
Calendar data never leaves your device.
-
Usage statistics (screen time) —
Used to calculate and display your daily screen time on the home screen.
This data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted anywhere.
-
App list —
Required for a launcher to display and launch your installed apps.
The list of installed apps never leaves your device.
Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect any personal information.
- We do not run analytics or tracking of any kind.
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not store any data on external servers (beyond the anonymous weather API call).
- We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties.
Data storage
All preferences (pinned apps, settings, blocked apps, name, etc.) are stored
locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences. This data stays on
your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Children
Minimal Launcher is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly
collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the new version will be published at this URL.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
